Photo Narrative /2

This week, we worked on more detailed topics about photography. Step by step, we looked at the famous bathroom scene of Psycho (1960) by Hitchcock and North by Northwest ( again Hitchcock, 1959). We understand the importance of angle and light. I think it's about seeing. After all, there is a lot of people who can't "see."

This week we try to take photographs with a story like this, but maybe I'm one of them who are not successful in seeing. I don't know yet. Dialogue, 180 degrees and "rule of third" were the most memorable examples for me. It's a bit hard to create a story with photographs.

We wanted to create a "narrative" with Alisa explaining that every person is always alone without realizing time and space.
I don't know how much we can accomplish this, but we're both going to pull it apart and eventually combine it. From an entire story, we follow the rule of going from one piece to the next.

When I say loneliness, I always think about cigarettes. Smoking is a very lonely object for me. The smell is very repulsive. I think those who use it are all alone? It's a wrong idea, but I'm thinking about it. That's why I think that way, and I took my own pictures accordingly.
Loneliness is a difficult matter. It's hard to say. We took our photos based on people's eyes on it. Let's see what we can do. Taking photos this week was an effort to apply what I learned. I took pictures using my aunt's professional machine and my phone. Maybe I couldn't fully cope but it's important to try. I've never had any formal, planned photographic experience in my life. I am trying. After all, I'm taking this course to learn.

I'm going to have an idea of how bad my "eyes" or they are so good. As I said, even if we learned what the angle means in the lesson, the direction in which a story moves, and how to show it in photographs, in practice it is not very easy to realize. We're trying to implement the rules. Maybe it won't be great, but I'm sure this will play a role to learn how to handle this kind of a process.
